Tasting Tales at The Scotch Whisky Experience

Posted: 20th February 2020

To celebrate VisitScotland’s themed year for 2020 – the Year of Coast and Waters, The Scotch Whisky Experience on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile is offering their new Tasting Tales product with a Coast and Waters theme from 7th February, in advance of International Scotch Day on the 8th.

Guests will be tutored through a tasting of four single malt Scotch whiskies matched with some highlights from Scotland’s larder. Each whisky has a story to tell with a link to Scotland’s coast or water and tales from Scotland’s rich distilling history. The chosen whiskies are Bunnahabhain 12 yo, Teanninich 10yo, Cutty Sark Prohibition and Port Charlotte 10yo.

Canapés include Scottish smoked salmon, fresh from the Isle of Bute, venison salami from the Great Glen Charcuterie, Scottish smoked Applewood cheese and chocolate as the perfect match to round off the food and whisky tasting. This tasting is ideal for individuals and small groups who enjoy Scotch (or are ready to give it a go!), love local, seasonal and artisan foods and are keen to hear the real stories, culture and history surrounding Scotch whisky.

Running until Easter, visitors will enjoy the stories of coastal whiskies and how Scotland’s Coasts and Waters have shaped our history and influenced our culture, stories and our way of life.

Hosted in the Stillhouse VIP suite by one of The Experience’s senior whisky experts, this is an informal, cultural experience and is the perfect pre-dinner entertainment. Tasting Tales runs Friday – Sunday at 2.30pm and 4.30pm and is limited to 12 guests at £39pp. Private groups can be arranged at alternative times.
