Cycling Scotland are pleased to announce a further round of the Cycle Friendly Employer Development Fund 2017/18. Open from today 4th January until 5pm 2nd February this fund will be for capital projects of up to £20,000.

The fund is aimed at encouraging and supporting workplaces across Scotland to take a leading role in increasing the number of journeys by bike.

Capital projects which are focused on improving cycling facilities and physical infrastructure – such as cycle parking, signage, changing facilities – are the key focus on this funding opportunity.

The fund is open to those registered, working towards or current Cycle Friendly Employers. You can register for the award here and your local service centre will be in touch to arrange an assessment.

Due to the short application deadline, provisional costs can be submitted. Successful applicants will have a year from acceptance of grant to complete their projects.

The University of Edinburgh Business School and Emperor are hosting an event on the 10th of October exploring how to craft, launch and sustain a successful employer brand.

With speakers from AG Barr, RBS and the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC), this event specifically examines the role of the employer brand in attracting and retaining the right candidates, making good hiring decisions and delivering a candidate experience to positively impact brand reputation. Leadership, HR and communications professionals, will benefit from key learnings taken from new market research, real world case studies, insightful presentations and the opportunity to engage with peers.

Employers can apply for up to £20,000 for capital projects which are focused on improving cycling facilities and physical infrastructure – such as cycle parking, signage, changing facilities. Match funding not a strict condition.

The fund is open to businesses and organisations who are working towards or are seeking to maintain the Cycle Friendly Employer Award. You can register for the award here and your local service centre will be in touch to arrange an assessment.
