Careerwise is a highly successful and highly effective work placement scheme aimed exclusively at females studying Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) subjects at Scottish Universities.

Careerwise works with employers to solve their STEM skills shortages by providing a conduit to widen their talent pool and attract interest and applications from female under graduate students studying STEM degrees.

Demand for Careerwise placements is high.  Since its launch in 2013, the scheme has received over 860 applications from over 420 individual females looking for vital STEM work experience each year.

We need more employers to get involved and provide work placement opportunities for summer 2017.  We are keen to work with a range of employers across Scotland who are able to provide paid summer placements in key STEM sectors between June – August 2017.

If you can identify a piece of project work that could be completed by a student over a 3 month period, perhaps you may consider it for a Careerwise placement in summer 2017?

If the placements are structured and positioned properly within your company the students and the placements can be a real asset to the organisation.  Placements give employers the opportunity to pre-assess students’ potential and can also help progress important strategic projects.

Careerwise helps companies build their early career talent pipeline here and now – ultimately creating a stronger future for your organisation.

If you are interested in providing work placement opportunities for females in summer 2017, contact Careerwise@napier.ac.uk to discuss the next steps.
