Stagecoach to launch new JET787 service from Monday 5th May

  • New direct route from St Andrews to Edinburgh Airport, via Cupar and Kinross
  • Up to every two hours, including late night and early morning journeys
  • Coaches feature comfortable seating and luggage storage

Stagecoach is excited to announce the launch of its new service, JET787, on Monday 5th May. The new service provides direct and convenient travel between St Andrews, Guardbridge, Cupar, Auchtermuchty, Kinross Park & Ride, Halbeath Park & Ride and Edinburgh Airport.

Journeys on JET787 from St Andrews will run up to every two hours, with journeys from St Andrews taking approximately 90 minutes and journeys from Kinross around 40 minutes.  Customers will be dropped off right at the departure doors of Edinburgh Airport for maximum convenience.

Coaches on the Jet787 route will feature spacious luggage areas and comfortable seating, ideal for holiday makers or anyone heading to St Andrews with golf clubs.

The service will also provide additional journeys to the Airport from Halbeath Park & Ride, already served 24/7 by Stagecoach’s Jet747 service up to every 20 minutes.

Customers can also connect to other Stagecoach routes at Kinross, Halbeath Park & Ride, opening up new travel options for residents in Kinross, Auchtermuchty and Cupar.  Free parking is available at both Park & Ride sites.

Sarah Elliott, Commercial Director for Stagecoach East Scotland said: “With just a few days to go, we are excited to be introducing the JET787 service to the East Scotland network on May Day.  This addition will give even more travellers a direct public transport route to Edinburgh Airport, offering a convenient services into the heart of St Andrews for students and visitors, and providing better coach connections across our wider network.”

“Public transport provision continues to grow at Scotland’s busiest airport and will stay a key focus for us.”

How much does it cost?

– From Halbeath Park & Ride: £11.70 adult single
– From St Andrews: £20 adult single
– From Halbeath or Kinross Park & Ride: £21.90 adult period return

You can buy tickets in advance on the Stagecoach Bus App.  If you’re planning to connect with other Stagecoach services, the East Scotland DayRider offers unlimited travel for just £12.20 in one day.

Under 22s, over 60s and people with a disability can travel for free with a valid concessions pass.
