SS Explorer seeking new volunteer board members
The SS Explorer Preservation Society is currently looking to expand and diversify our Board of Directors.
We are a small Leith based charity working to preserve the Fishery Research Ship Explorer which was operated by the Scottish Home Office between 1956 – 1984. Our aim is to turn the ship into a museum with working machinery where possible and a shore visitor center show casing Scottish ship building heritage, the Explorer, the marine research work carried out onboard and social history of the time period.
We are looking for members with experience in Finance, Legal, Project Management and Risk Management.
The board meets 6 times a year on the first Tuesday evening of every second month in Leith and our AGM is held in the Summer.
Directors are expected to committee to 4 hours per month.
