Solicitor Kirsten McKinnon joins Shepherd and Wedderburn’s private client team

Posted: 26th July 2019

Shepherd and Wedderburn has expanded its private client offering in Aberdeen with the appointment of solicitor Kirsten McKinnon.

Kirsten has joined the largest Scottish-headquartered UK law firm from Burnett & Reid to work alongside former colleague Gillian Campbell, who joined Shepherd and Wedderburn in April as partner and Head of Private Client in Aberdeen and the north of Scotland.

Kirsten advises across all areas of private client work, including wills, powers of attorney, adults with incapacity, tax planning and trust work, and is a qualified member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the global professional association for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning.

She will work from Shepherd and Wedderburn’s Aberdeen office, advising clients across the north of Scotland, supported by Shepherd and Wedderburn experts operating from its offices in Aberdeen Edinburgh, Glasgow and London. The firm’s Aberdeen office is led by local specialists who have lived and worked in the north east for many years and are immersed in the business community, such as Mike Anderson (property and infrastructure), Hamish Lean (rural business and renewables) and Keir Willox (corporate finance).

Malcolm Rust, Shepherd and Wedderburn’s Head of Private Client, said Kirsten’s appointment further enhances the firm’s highly regarded private client practice and its service offering to entrepreneurs, business owners, private individuals and families across the north of Scotland.

He said: “Kirsten’s appointment will be of tremendous benefit to our clients, given her expertise across all aspects of personal law and her reputation as a lawyer who always goes the extra mile to build longstanding relationships of trust with the individuals and families she advises, including business and land owners, executives, entrepreneurs, professionals and farmers.”
