Shepherd and Wedderburn team take time to smell the roses

Posted: 16th June 2016

Green-fingered members of UK law firm, Shepherd and Wedderburn’s Private Client, Pensions and Employment teams, will swap their usual business attire for gardening gloves on Thursday, when they head to Waverley Care Milestone, a residential outreach and support centre for people living with HIV or Hepatitis C.

The group of volunteers will work with Milestone staff for the day to help maintain the four acre garden around the centre. Jobs will range from cutting grass and weeding, to cutting back overgrown shrubs, building paths and planting borders with donated plants.

Staffed by a team of experienced support workers, Waverley Care Milestone supports and cares for people living with HIV or Hepatitis C. The centre not only offers residents support with treatments and access to advice, counselling and complimentary therapies, but provides a fun and relaxed atmosphere with a daily programme of activities.

Shepherd and Wedderburn partner, Louisa Knox who is leading the firm’s gardening volunteering, commented: “We are well acquainted with the invaluable work the centre does. We are looking forward to getting stuck in on the day and contributing to the maintenance of the lovely surroundings for centre residents to enjoy.”
