Posted: 12th March 2020

Burges Salmon continues to grow in Scotland as Amy McVey joins the firm’s Banking team as director

Building on the successful launch of its Edinburgh office in May 2019, the appointment of Amy McVey demonstrates its further commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients across the UK.

Amy joins Burges Salmon from the Banking and Finance team at Brodies having previously worked at The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Amy will help develop Burges Salmon’s Scottish Banking practice, with particular focus on financial restructurings, leveraged finance, real estate finance and corporate lending

Amy’s appointment takes the firm’s Banking team in Scotland to three, which also comprises partner Stuart McMillan (who is focused advising clients in the infrastructure, real estate and energy sectors) and solicitor Stephanie Lynch.

Amy says: “Burges Salmon has a widely recognised and trusted Banking team with an impressive reputation across the UK.  I’m  pleased to be joining the team during this exciting period of continued growth in Scotland and to help further enhance its presence across the market.”

Stuart McMillan says: “Amy’s appointment is fantastic news for both our Scottish practice and for the firm.  It’s been exciting watching our Edinburgh office grow since its launch in 2019 and to see such successful legal experts bolstering our teams, working to develop and grow existing and new client relationships.”

Amy McVey joined Burges Salmon in March 2020.
