Scottish software firm Sharktower AI adds key leadership hires to their team as they prepare for ambitious growth plans

Posted: 5th June 2020

Edinburgh based software company Sharktower AI has announced the appointment of Brendan Waters, who joined the business on the 1st June.

These new appointments are part of ambitious plans to scale the company’s growth. The team aims to expand to 50 employees next year with further investment plans to support channel and international expansion towards becoming a global leader in AI-driven project delivery software.

Brendan spent several years as a Corporate Finance advisor to technology businesses before joining one of the UK’s highest profile tech start-ups, FanDuel, as their first CFO, helping the founders raise $16m of Venture Capital and Venture Debt from international investors. He then spent 4 years as CFO of Dog Digital, a Glasgow-based, VC-backed Digital Media agency. Most recently, Brendan was CFO of Wilson Imports, an international supplier to the sporting apparel and equipment market.

On joining Sharktower, Brendan said “Sharktower is one of the most exciting early stage businesses to emerge in Scotland in recent years. The team has developed cutting edge AI techniques and powerful, data-led project management solutions to solve real business issues for large enterprises by reducing project waste and improving team communication, which is particularly important during these times. I am excited by the opportunity to be part of the leadership team at such an exciting time for the business, as we prepare for the next round of growth investment.”

This follows the recent appointment of Nikki Horwood as Marketing Manager last month.

Nikki has 20 years’ experience in B2B tech marketing, having previously headed up marketing for several high-profile technology companies including CA Technologies, Informatica, Trend Micro and Cisco. Nikki will be responsible for leading the strategic planning and delivery of all marketing activities across the company.

Speaking of her appointment, Nikki said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Sharktower at this time. AI is set to revolutionise project management and to be part of a company that is driving that change is an incredible opportunity.  These are obviously challenging times to be starting a new role, but we have an incredible team of innovative, fearless people and we are getting to know each other very well, digitally.”
