A ScotRail Alliance spokesperson said:

“In preparation for Storm Barbara, we may need to amend train services.  Customers who already have a ticket to travel between Inverness – Kyle of Lochalsh/Wick, or between Glasgow – Oban/Fort William/Mallaig for Friday 23 December only, may wish to travel a day earlier, on Thursday 22 December, or up to and including Wednesday 28 December instead.  These tickets will be honoured.  We are working hard to keep people safe and get them where they want to be.
