Royal Blind’s eighth annual Celebrity Golf Day will see Royal Blind team up with a new drinks sponsor, Knops Beer. The East Lothian brewers are based in the same grounds as the Archerfield Golf Course – where the annual fundraising golf tournament will take place on 10 August.

Knops Beer’s Walled Garden microbrewery produces a variety of beers including their label, Archerfield Fine Ales and is masterminded by brewer-in-chief, Robert Knops.
The company will be providing refreshments to contestants as they make their way around the exclusive 18-hole Fidra Links course.

The event, hosted by DJ Scott Wilson, will see teams of three joined by a celebrity from the sporting world. A team costs £600, which includes a breakfast roll, tea or coffee on arrival, the use of the club’s outstanding facilities, an Archerfield crested valuables pouch, tees, pencil and poker chip marker, 18 holes of golf in a shotgun start, use of golf buggies and a two course set menu meal post golf.

Attendees enjoyed stunning weather at last year’s event, which raised more than £8,000 for Royal Blind. Royal Blind is Scotland’s largest visual impairment organisation, creating life-changing opportunities for visually impaired children and adults from across Scotland and the rest of the UK.

Colleen Watt, of the Royal Blind fundraising department, said partnership would be a treat for competitors. She added: “We are delighted to team up with Knops Beer for this years’ Celebrity Golf Day.

“The brewery is actually based within the Walled Garden in the Archerfield Estate, so they’re an ideal sponsor for this event – and I’m sure the competitors will agree.

“The Golf Day is a highlight of the Royal Blind fundraising calendar with a great atmosphere and an excellent opportunity for team building. The Archerfield Golf Course is a stunning course and extremely exclusive so for a lot of people this is a real once in a lifetime, bucket list day.

“All the money raised by the Celebrity Golf Day goes towards support Royal Blind’s services across Scotland.”

Tickets can be purchased online at www.royalblind.org and are on a first come first served basis.
