Registers of Scotland welcomes new Non-Executive Directors

Following a competitive recruitment process, Registers of Scotland (RoS) is delighted to welcome three new Non-Executive Directors to its board.

The successful applicants joining RoS this month are:

Mhairi Kennedy

Mhairi Kennedy brings more than 30 years of executive leadership, transformation and performance improvement, gained in UK and international financial services, pharmaceutical and public sectors.

Mhairi recently returned to Scotland, after spending 15 years in southern England.

Her career has included executive and commercial management roles with lenders such as RBS (The Royal Bank of Scotland), HBOS (Bank of Scotland), Barclays, Santander, and Aldermore, and as executive transformation director for the Motor Insurance Bureau.

​Mhairi is a director of a small professional services company and was recently appointed as a Non-Executive Director to Ayrshire and Arran Health Board.

Asim Muhammad

Asim Muhammad is Chief Technology Officer at Glasgow-based business McCurrach UK Ltd.

Asim, a graduate of the University of Strathclyde, has 20 years’ experience in bringing people, process, systems and data together.

In senior roles at businesses including BT Asim led global teams to deliver digital strategies, complex business change, target operating and delivery models, support services and customer experience, resulting in significant growth and cost reduction.

Asim has a passion for technology and digital transformation which he hopes will be of great value in his new Non-Executive Director role at RoS.

Elaine Melrose

Elaine Melrose is managing director of Melrose Scott Consulting, a consultancy specialising in high value business advice, strategic planning, executive leadership and coaching.

Formerly executive director of Housing, Environment and Economic Development at West Dunbartonshire Council, she joined the Wheatley Group in 2013 as Group Director of Resources. As part of the founding Executive Team she was instrumental in building this sector leading Scottish busines, achieving UK and European recognition for excellence in business and people management.

Elaine is one of Scotland’s most experienced public sector executives and brings over 25 years’ experience in leading transformational change, advising on critical improvements in strategic direction, workforce planning & development, organisation culture, governance, business growth, digital transformation and competitiveness.
