Pupil from St Andrew’s Fox Covert RC Primary School awarded prize by homebuilder

Posted: 12th April 2022

Miller Homes has revealed that a primary 3 pupil from St Andrew’s Fox Covert RC Primary School is among the three winning artists of its Easter colouring competition that launched last month in partnership with local primary schools across the East of Scotland.

St Andrew’s Fox Covert RC Primary School pupil, Kylah has been named as one of the winners, alongside pupils from Calderwood Primary School in Livingston and Maddiston Primary School in Falkirk. Kylah’s artwork beat hundreds of submissions to make it to the top three, as the judging panel were truly spoiled for choice with over 360 entries submitted for the competition.

As one of the three winners, Kylah has been awarded a £50 Amazon voucher, plus a bumper arts and crafts bundle for her class to enjoy, courtesy of Miller Homes.

16 schools across the East of Scotland took part in the competition, with the entries shortlisted by Miller Homes, and judged by Miller Homes’ Regional Sales Director, Lynsey Brown and Edinburgh Property Journalist, Gordon Holmes.
Lynsey Brown from Miller Homes said: “We were thrilled to be able to support St Andrew’s Fox Covert RC Primary School and other local schools with this art project and get kids excited for Easter. A lot of the families moving to our new West Craigs Manor development in Edinburgh will have children that attend St Andrew’s Fox Covert RC Primary School, so it was great to engage with the local community and give the pupils something fun to do in the lead up to the Easter holidays. We were blown away by the creativity of the children, so it was incredibly difficult choosing our winners, however, we loved Kylah’s entry and thought her colouring skills were fantastic. We hope the competition was just as fun for the kids as it was for us!”

Miller Homes’ West Craigs Manor development is situated on the western edge of Edinburgh, near Edinburgh Gateway train station and The Gyle Shopping Centre. It offers a stunning portfolio of the homebuilder’s most popular two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, just a short distance from Edinburgh City Centre whilst still being close to the countryside, giving buyers the best of both worlds.
