Posted: 6th February 2019

ISE 2019 in Amsterdam plays host from today, to the launch of and the exclusive, first look at Pufferfish’s all-new range of products – PufferTouch 2. Renowned for being the world leader in interactive spherical display technology, the UK-based company has joined forces with projection partner Barco, to introduce their innovative new displays at the world biggest AV technology show.

Building on the success of the original PufferTouch system, which has already seen Pufferfish reaching a customer base in 40 countries worldwide, PufferTouch 2 and PufferTouch 2+ reach new heights in interactivity, usability and affordability. These new products offer unparalleled image quality and performance, alongside product options to suit a range of budgets and requirements.

Meanwhile, the updated core software package – PufferCore – facilitates the creation of multiple interactive applications, which, combined with Pufferfish’s most powerful displays to date, lays the foundation for building interactive experiences like no others.

Now boasting live data integrations alongside a remote interface that allows customers to manage and update their system with ease, the new and improved software capabilities open up new possibilities in storytelling.

From the playback and storyboarding of 360° media, to layering multiple global datasets, creating product carousels and tracking assets like aircraft or satellites in real time on an interactive globe, PufferCore offers increased value and puts the power in your hands to create the most engaging user experiences. Pufferfish is constantly expanding its software functionality and library of digital content, in order to provide the widest range of assets for their customers.

Harnessing cutting-edge developments in projection technology, such as the Barco F80 4K projector, Pufferfish have incorporated new laser projection technology into this iteration of their innovative interactive solutions.

In addition to the enhanced resolution source, reduced operating noise and extended light source lifetime, The PufferTouch 2 badge represents the company’s most robust and streamlined systems. Now easier to deploy than ever before, installation and long term maintenance is supported by increasingly powerful software and extended support packages.

“At Pufferfish, we pride ourselves on producing the world’s most engaging interactive display, a claim that is well supported by an impressive client base executing activations using Pufferfish technology all around the globe, including Rolls Royce, IBM, Shell, Vodafone and Toyota, among others.

We place great importance on our commitment to R&D, which allows us to continually provide the best performing, cutting-edge technology to our clients,” says Pufferfish CEO, Angus MacFadyen, adding: “Our clients know they can rely on us to lead the way in creating user experiences that really resonate with their audiences. We have a decade of experience in using our technology to tell customer stories in the most innovative way that leaves a real impression on visitors.”

Peter Pauwels, VP Sales Proav Events EMEA at Barco, is especially enthusiastic about the collaboration: ‘The PufferTouch 2 and PufferTouch 2+ demonstrate how the partnership between Barco and Pufferfish has gone from strength to strength. Barco is always thrilled to be involved in any innovative technologies Pufferfish produce and look forward to doing so in the future.’

In addition to the exciting new product developments at Pufferfish, the company is delighted to announce an expanded presence in the United States. Already supplying its innovative solutions to the North American market, Pufferfish have worked with companies like Toyota, AT&T and Vodafone stateside to create unique interactive experiences for their audiences. The UK-based company is now building its distribution capabilities by adding long-standing partners Stewart Filmscreen as an approved reseller.
