Promoting Scottish Family Businesses
Audi Fleet were delighted to be one of the sponsors of the inaugural Scottish Family Businesses United road trip which put the spotlight on family businesses.
Over twenty Scottish businesses were visited during the road trip representing a variety of businesses sectors from manufacturing through to IT services; businesses visited included Johnston’s of Elgin, Walkers Shortbread, Gordon and MacPhail, Mackays Marmalade, Graham’s Dairy, Scottish Leather Group, JW Filshill, Littles Chauffeurs, Zonal Retail Data Systems, Kinloch Anderson, Crieff Hydro and John White and Son.
Family businesses are the backbone of the Scottish economy with the Top 100 Scottish Family Firms generating £16.6 billion in annual turnover, employing over 103,000 people.
Paul Andrews CEO of FBU Scotland started the trip at Glasgow Audi where he collected the Audi A5 from Market Area Development Manager Andrew Mitchell. Paul was delighted with the car provided adding, “I’d like to thank the Audi Fleet team for their support during the road trip, the team were fantastic ambassadors for both fleet and Audi and the A5 drive and performance was impressive”.
Andrew Mitchell Area Development Manager Lookers added that “the road trip gave us a fantastic opportunity to meet with many of our existing customers in their place of business. It was interesting to see the size and scale of these family businesses and to find out how these businesses are benefiting the economy. These visits provided an opportunity to discuss business fleet and to engage in discussion on how we can assist and offer support to business customers in the future.”
