Join us to design the UK’s first Autonomous Bus Service in a hands on day of discovery and creation!

Posted: 25th September 2019
Project CAV Forth

CAV Forth is a collaborative project part funded by the UK Governments’ Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV).

A consortium of UK partners are in the process of designing and developing a fleet of full size autonomous buses that will service a new Stagecoach operated route running from Ferrytoll P&R in Fife, across the Forth Road Bridge into Edinburgh Park’s transport interchange.

Design Jam

Our ‘Design Jam’ event will bring together East Scotland’s citizens with researchers, designers, developers and Stagecoach leadership to co-design how this service works for real people.

Together we will explore acceptance of the technology, how the service can be inclusive & accessibility, what makes for a positive passenger experience and how we can add moments of delight into this futuristic service.

To do this we are looking for a diverse range of views – people from different backgrounds, from different communities & professions as well as those with different travel needs.

Our aim is to be open and accessible to all. When you register please tell us if you have any additional support needs or dietary requirements. We can also reimburse travel expenses if you let us know in advance; breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided throughout the day.

Throughout the course of the day you will learn about the technology, our service and the trial parameters before being encouraged to ‘JAM’ with fellow participants; creating idea, and prototyping solutions. There will also be the opportunity to pitch your ideas with ‘VIP’ tickets to the launch of the trial up for grabs.

Staff will be on hand throughout the day to support and guide you through discussions and the creative process.

Why?

Have the chance to influence the design of a first of its kind service, experience a design approach to creative problem solving, meet new people and have fun! If that wasn’t enough each participant will receive a £20 gift voucher as a thank you for taking part.
