Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has today unveiled its unaudited financial results for the year ending 30 April 2025. This year’s results have delivered a revenue increase of 4.7% after a year of continued growth within the firm’s core sectors and across its jurisdictions.

• Profit per equity partner reached £797k, an increase of 0.5%

Our mandates

This year we have advised our clients on the attainment of some of their most significant strategic challenges and opportunities, including:

• Onboarding with Heineken as their sole legal provider in the UK.
• Advising long-standing client MFG on its £2.5bn acquisition of more than 700 Morrisons petrol and EV development sites.
• Advising Carlton Power on its hydrogen pipeline, including the establishment of a pioneering joint venture with Schroders Greencoat LLP to fund and develop a UK-wide portfolio of green hydrogen projects, and securing some of the UK Government’s first hydrogen funding contracts under its Hydrogen Allocation Round (HAR1).
• Advising on Sydney Metro, the largest public transport infrastructure project in Australia involving the building, operating, and maintenance of a network of four metro lines, 46 stations, and 113km of new metro rail.
• Advising on the highest value bonus claim brought before Dubai International Financial Centre Court.
• Representing Teva pharmaceuticals in its UK and Europe-wide litigation to revoke Bristol Myers Squibb’s compound patent and supplementary protection certificate (SPC) in relation to the blockbuster anti-coagulant drug Eliquis (Apixaban).

Our communities

• Doubled the number of people in our business conducting pro bono work and built a network of over 60 pro bono champions.
• Partnered with Business in the Community on their Responsible AI Labs initiative that will result in a best practice blueprint for businesses utilising AI in their operations.
• Provided pro bono advice to Kids in Need of Defence (KIND), helping more than 25 children gain British citizenship.
• Gave pro bono advice to PCD Research on its funding of research programmes for Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, an inherited condition that affects approximately one in 7,500 people.
• Offered the highest number of training contracts in the legal sector to students from the 10,000 Interns Foundation which seeks to improve Black representation in professional services.

In Scotland, where the firm employs approximately 550 staff in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, the corporate and employment teams were bolstered with the appointment of ex EnQuest general counsel Chris Sawyer as Partner, and seasoned employment specialist Gillian Harrington as Partner, both based in Aberdeen.

A strong commitment to the firm’s presence in Glasgow was made with securing 31,000 sq ft of Grade A office space at the city’s flagship Aurora building in Bothwell Street, with occupation anticipated to be in early 2026.

In Edinburgh financial services expert, Walter Clark was appointed Partner, joining from Burness Paull, while Gillian Frew was appointed Head of Office, and in the most recent round of promotions four Scottish lawyers joined the Partnership, while seven were promoted to Legal Director.

Transactions involving Scottish lawyers included advising Ithaca Energy on its £754m combination with Italian operator Eni; advising Motor Fuel Group on the £2.5bn acquisition of petrol courts and EV charging sites from supermarket giant Morrisons; acting for National Westminster Bank Plc in relation to the acquisition of a circa £2.5 billion prime residential mortgage portfolio from Metro Bank plc; and ongoing support for Winchburgh Development’s £1bn residential project in West Lothian.
