Nira Caledonia’s Guests Enjoy Appy Days

Posted: 4th September 2018

AN EDINBURGH luxury boutique hotel is giving guests the chance to make the most out of their stay – even to request for a bath to be run in advance of their arrival – thanks to its own app.

Nira Caledonia’s app has been designed so that guests have everything they need to make for a perfect visit – all loaded onto their own mobiles or tablets.

As well as a speedy process to request early check-in or to make a dinner reservation at Nira Caledonia’s Blackwood’s restaurant; the app provides recommendations on the best must-see places and events in Edinburgh.

Chris Lynch, General Manager at Nira Caledonia, said: “Our guests are often independent-minded travellers from all over the world who are looking to experience the best there is in the Scottish capital city in a stress-free way.

“While the app will never replace our total focus on providing a personal service that is bespoke to every guest, we love the fact that we have come up with an innovative way to ensure they can make the most of their stay.

“With this app, they can book a table at our Blackwood’s Restaurant easily, work out how to use the equipment in their room quickly and discover which places to see in the capital and have this information with them when they are out.

“If need be, they can send us a message to ask us to run a bath in their room ahead of their arrival.”

The other benefits of the app – designed by Edinburgh-based Criton Apps – is that it allows Nira Caledonia to keep their Guest Directory up to date, without the need and cost of having it constantly reprinted.

The 28 bedroom hotel – located in one of the most exclusive addresses in Edinburgh’s New Town – offers guests a blend of Georgian elegance, contemporary cool and heartfelt service.

Located over two townhouses on Gloucester Place, the property was home to the renowned 19th century bon viveur and hedonist, John Wilson, who wrote under the pseudonym Christopher North. And the décor and style aims to continue the tradition he set.

Nira Caledonia is part of Shanti Hospitality, a hotel and leisure company with a focus on building and developing exceptional assets and brands. There are two other properties in the Nira portfolio; Nira Alpina in St Moritz and Shanti Maurice in Mauritius.

Rooms at Nira Caledonia start at £159.
