FIRST SCOTLAND EAST SHORTLISTED IN CAPITAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AWARDS

  • Company shortlisted for Excellence in Health and Safety, Sustainable Development and Outstanding Contribution to Development and Skills
  • Managing Director Paul McGowan shortlisted in Director of the Year category

 

Local bus operator First Scotland East has been shortlisted in four categories at the prestigious Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce 2017 Business Awards.

The company has been nominated for Excellence in Health and Safety, Sustainable Development, and Outstanding Contribution to Development and Skills. Managing Director, Paul McGowan, who has been shortlisted in the Director of the Year category, said his team are committed to improving services and encouraging more passengers on to bus travel.

First Scotland East – which operates under the brands First Midland Bluebird, First West Lothian and First Borders – will hear the outcome of the judging at a special awards ceremony at the end of this month.

Paul McGowan, said: “It’s a great honour and hugely exciting to be part of an impressive list of companies and individuals shortlisted in this year’s Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Awards.

“We have a great team who are working hard to transform the company and deliver consistent improvement in all areas, and we are very proud to have reached the final stage of judging.

“It is particularly gratifying to be shortlisted in key areas of business activity. My team place great emphasis on health and safety, learning and skills, sustainable development and improving overall performance.”

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa, Edinburgh, on Monday, 27 February.
