Charities Seminar – Bridging the Diversity Gap

Posted: 2nd February 2018

Ever thought about trying to attract a wider range of people to work within the board of your charitable organisation? Thomson Cooper Accountants are hosting a free charities seminar on Wednesday 21 February looking at the value that diversity can bring to third sector organisations. Held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Queensferry Crossing, the event is open to anyone with an interest in the sector.

The guest speaker is Pauline Lafferty, former Chief People Officer of the Weir Group Plc, an international engineering company with over 14,000 staff.  Pauline will explore the benefits and challenges of establishing diversity within the board of third sector organisations. She will discuss her thoughts and experiences of the impact of diverse thinking in organisations and thus the importance of diversity in recruitment to board appointments. Pauline offers a wealth of experience, not only in HR, but also as a Trustee of various charitable organisations.

Following Pauline, Thomson Cooper charity specialist Partner Fiona Haro will give a review of good governance for charities, followed by a Q & A session and lunch.  The event starts at 10.30 and booking is essential.

This is a free event but spaces are limited. The deadline for booking is Tuesday 13 February. Book online at www.thomsoncooper.com, email charities@thomsoncooper.com or call 01383 628800 and ask for Lynn Wardlaw.
