New Top Dog at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home

Posted: 9th April 2020

Animal welfare charity, Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, is under new leadership following the retiral of its first ever CEO, Howard Bridges, in December 2019.

Lindsay Fyffe-Jardine, previously Director of Operations and Deputy CEO, and more recently, Interim CEO, has taken up the post this week.

Lindsay comes to the role with extensive experience in the humanitarian and animal welfare sectors, working across security, international disaster management and operations, including key roles at World Animal Protection and Edinburgh Airport.

Having been in post as Interim CEO since January, Lindsay has already taken on her first major challenge as CEO in guiding the Home through the Coronavirus pandemic, using her solid background in business continuity and crisis management. Lindsay has been writing a daily blog about leading the Home through these difficult times, which can be read by visiting the Home’s website https://edch.org.uk/latest-news-and-blog/blogs/.

Chair of the Board of Trustees, Doreen Graham said:

“I am delighted the Board of Trustees has appointed Lindsay as the Home’s new Chief Executive.

“Lindsay stepped up as Interim CEO at the end of 2019 and her leadership skills have been evident with many new initiatives being introduced, such as the staff health and wellbeing programme and the pet food bank.

“Her professionalism and passion for the Home and its people is evident and never more-so than now as we face the challenge of responding to COVID-19 while continuing our high standards of animal welfare and supporting our people.”

Lindsay Fyffe-Jardine, CEO added:

“I’m very honoured to be appointed by the board of trustees as the Home’s new CEO. It’s a privilege to lead this amazing team of people who are so passionate and dedicated to our mission. The Home is an incredibly special place and I’m thrilled to continue to be a part of the history of this great organisation.”
