Nation-wide search for World AIDS Day Champions
This week Waverley Care – Scotland’s HIV, HepC & sexual health charity – are launching a nation-wide search for individuals across Scotland to help raise awareness and funds in support of people affected by HIV this World AIDS Day.
Grant Sugden, Waverley Care’s CEO said “Modern medication and treatment for HIV means that people living with the condition can live a long and healthy life, but the stigma associated with HIV means they continue to face discrimination, poor mental health and often have to live a double life.
We will work tirelessly until we can finally smash HIV stigma, but we can’t do it alone and so this campaign is the perfect way to help raise awareness and funds to continue that important work.”
The charity are looking for individuals across Scotland to sign-up to be a World AIDS Day Champion in their workplace, school, uni, church or community between 25 November and 6 December.
As a World AIDS Day Champion you will receive a World AIDS Day pack in the post with everything you will need to organise a fundraising and awareness-raising event of your own. The pack includes information about HIV and World AIDS Day, banners, posters, pens, stickers, a pop-up collection tin, bunting and much more.
