Posted: 11th October 2019

MacRoberts has been named as “Diversity Star Performer” at The Herald & GenAnalytics Diversity Awards 2019.

The firm received the award in acknowledgement of an outstanding commitment and leadership to harnessing the benefits of a diverse workforce internally and externally, whilst demonstrating an understanding for the importance of diversity within industry.

Held in Glasgow on 9 October, the awards recognised the outstanding success of companies and organisations, individuals, third sector organisations and community groups who have and continue to demonstrate a strong commitment and track record of achievement in ensuring that everyone in society has the opportunity to fulfil their ambitions, aspirations and potential.

Director of People & Development, Rupa Mooker said, “We are thrilled to not only be able to offer our support to such an important event, but to be recognised ourselves for our commitment to diversity and inclusion in the legal industry is doubly exciting.

We are a people business, committed to our approach that our staff feel safe, supported and equal, so to be acknowledged to that end alongside so many other inspiring organisations is an honour. We aim to continue to inspire, motivate and attract a diverse workforce that helps MacRoberts evolve and lead by example across the legal industry in Scotland.”

MacRoberts is also a member of the Stonewall UK Diversity Champions Programme and a recent staff survey conducted with GenAnalytics revealed 72% of respondents indicated that they are comfortable in discussing equality, diversity and inclusion at work and 87% of all respondents believe that MacRoberts is an employer that is welcoming to everyone regardless of race, religion, belief, marital status, age, sexual orientation, disability or background.”
