MacRoberts focus on agile working and collaboration with its office move in Edinburgh

Posted: 12th May 2021

Leading Scottish commercial law firm, MacRoberts is moving to prestigious Grade A offices at 10 George Street, Edinburgh. The new offices have been designed with a focus on agile working and collaboration between people and clients.

The firm’s key purpose was to create a quality space in a central location that would promote and encourage an atmosphere of discussion, in person contact and interaction, connecting people within the business and enable meaningful collaboration with colleagues and clients.

Following a year where the entire business was working from home full time, MacRoberts conducted extensive firm-wide surveys to gather views and opinions on how its people wanted to work post-pandemic. As lockdown restrictions ease, the firm is preparing to roll-out its enhanced agile working strategy, which recognises the health and well-being benefits of a flexible approach whilst prioritising a commitment to clients and the delivery of high quality legal services in Scotland, the UK and internationally.

Neil Kennedy, Managing Partner, said:

“The onset of the pandemic forced us to work remotely almost overnight. Whilst this has undoubtedly brought many benefits, we all recognise that there is a need and renewed appreciation of face to face contact and what that can achieve.

As a result, we are transforming our ‘traditional’ offices into spaces that allow our people and our clients to come together, whether that be formal meeting rooms designed for client work, or informal social spaces that allow our people to collaborate in a more relaxed, natural way. These offices are going to be a fantastic new location for us to enjoy office life again.

This supports our strategy to strengthen client relationships and deliver high quality legal services by providing increased agility and flexibility that our clients have come to expect”.
