Posted: 4th March 2026

Recognition follows global “World’s Best Surf Park” accolade

Andy Hadden, Founder of Lost Shore Surf Resort, has been named Director of the Year at the 15th Annual Business Awards hosted by Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.

Held in front of more than 610 guests representing over 160 companies from across the capital, the awards celebrate leadership, resilience and business excellence within Edinburgh’s thriving commercial community.

Hadden was recognised for his vision and determination in bringing Lost Shore Surf Resort to life, transforming a bold idea first registered in 2014 into Europe’s largest wave pool and a globally recognised destination. The award closely follows Lost Shore being ranked the World’s Best Surf Park in a global review published by Blooloop.

Speaking after receiving the award, Hadden said:

“It’s an incredible honour to be recognised by the Edinburgh business community. Lost Shore has always been about building something ambitious here in Scotland, creating jobs, attracting international visitors and delivering a world-class experience. This award belongs to the entire team who believed in the vision and worked tirelessly to make it a reality.”

Since opening, Lost Shore has welcomed more than 200,000 visitors in its first full year of operation, with guests travelling from over 67 countries and an economic impact of  £18m annually.

The Director of the Year accolade marks another major milestone for Lost Shore and reinforces its growing impact on the regional economy and international tourism landscape.
