Lap The Map – ECHC’s new summer event!

Posted: 24th June 2020

Join the race to Lap the Map in a friendly battle of East versus West this July, as Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity takes on Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity in an unique fundraising challenge to raise essential funds for each children’s hospital.

Lap the Map is a virtual race to cover the full distance of the Scottish coastline and English border – all 10,007 kilometres of it!

The Sick Kids needs YOU to take up the challenge and make sure Team Edinburgh wins.

The starting pistol will sound on 6 July  – from then on every single run or walk completed by the Team Edinburgh heroes will be logged on Strava and will take Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity closer to being the first of the two charities to reach 10,007 km.

Whether you clock up the equivalent of Kirkcaldy to Kinghorn, North to South Queensferry, or Portobello to Prestonpans – every stride will be added to a grand total and take the mighty Team Edinburgh closer to that finish line.

By fundraising as you go, you will make sure there is only one real winner – the children using the hospital who are fighting the toughest battles of their lives.

Every penny you raise will help the children, families and staff of the Sick Kids, bringing comfort, support and smiles to the wards when it is most needed.

Edinburgh has always been the best. Now there is a chance to prove it. With you on our team, there’s no doubt that Team Edinburgh will be the first to Lap the Map.

Do it for the glory.

Do it for Edinburgh.

But most importantly, do it for the Kids.
