Kitchin life post Covid, by Kitchin Group

Posted: 28th August 2020

Kitchin Group, the family run business with The Kitchin, The Scran & Scallie and The Bonnie Badger in its portfolio have finally re-opened its doors to extend new, innovative ways to a safe way of dining.  The small group of unique hospitality venues was created by husband and wife team Tom and Michaela Kitchin, who were awarded ‘UK restauranteurs of the year’ at the Restaurant Awards in 2019.

The two restaurants and the award-wining hotel are allowing guests to escape to a happy and safe place for dining out in Edinburgh and East Lothian thanks to extensive safety measures which have been put in place throughout.

The unique dining experiences of each Kitchin group venue are once again allowing for hospitality and gastronomy to provide an important way of life with eating well and feeling good as vital aspects to our well-being. There has been an overwhelming feeling of excitement from diners to be out and enjoying good food and hospitality again with safety remaining the priority for all venues within Kitchin Group.

Multiple new procedures have been introduced and implemented for the safety of all guests and staff members. The wish for Kitchin Group has always been to navigate guests to feel safe and at ease in the post COVID dining environment whilst enjoying their experiences.

With a loyal, professional team all wearing face coverings and adhering to mitigation guidelines, all guests are guided to comply with temperature checks and respect social distancing regulations.

Kitchin Group is continuing to emphasise the ‘From Nature to Plate’ philosophy which is synonymous with the group where all produce is seasonal and always sourced from local suppliers displaying the very best of the Scottish larder.

Following re-opening, Visit Scotland credited The Kitchin, The Scran & Scallie and The Bonnie Badger with their ‘We’re good to go’ accreditation which confirms that the necessary processes are in place and that government and public health guidance are being adhered to.
