Josh Doig Signs Long-Term Deal
We are delighted to announce that Josh Doig has committed his long-term future to Hibernian FC by signing a new deal.
The 19-year-old, who is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in the domestic game, has put pen-to-paper on a contract that runs until the summer of 2026.
Doig enjoyed a magnificent breakthrough campaign last season, rightfully grabbing the headlines and eventually being named as the Scottish Football Writers’ Association Young Player of the Year. His fine form continued into the current campaign as he’s continued to develop and gone on to make a number of appearances for Scotland’s Under-21s side. Josh spoke to hibernianfc.co.uk after signing his new deal and said: “I’m absolutely delighted. I absolutely love this club and it was a no brainer to sign.
“Now getting this done puts a real plan in place for me. I love working with everyone here, I’m so happy here and wouldn’t change it for the world.”
“We’re delighted that Josh has signed a new deal with us,” said First Team Manager Jack Ross. “There was a lot of speculation regarding his future in the summer, but he showed a real maturity to deal with a difficult situation.
“We believe he’s one of the top young players in this country and we want to keep him with us to continue his development.”
