Johnston Carmichael steps up for communities across Scotland with £24,000 Kiltwalk fundraising boost

Posted: 16th October 2025

Leading UK chartered accountancy and business advisory firm Johnston Carmichael has raised more than £24,000 for 30 Scottish charities after taking part in this year’s Kiltwalk events.

From Glasgow to Aberdeen, Dundee to Edinburgh, a team of 191 Johnston Carmichael “Chartered Akiltants” walked a combined 4,072 miles, embodying the firm’s values of doing the right thing and standing in other’s shoes.

Among the many inspiring stories was Scott Dunbar, Business Advisory Partner in Elgin, who completed all four 2025 Mighty Stride Kiltwalk events – a feat spanning over 60 miles – in support of Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation. The charity was founded to support children across Scotland with cancer and help them make memories with their families.

“What started as a rush of adrenaline during a presentation quickly turned into a real commitment,” said Scott. “I underestimated the power of personal satisfaction in doing something positive for a charity that helps so many. That feeling has driven me to make the biggest impact I can in 2025.”

Among the other charities Johnston Carmichael supported this year are Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland, Lymphoma Action and The Archie Foundation.

Jenn Stewart, Partner and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, Johnston Carmichael, said: “We’re incredibly proud of every single walker who took part. As a long-standing gold sponsor, Kiltwalk is something our teams always look forward to, and it’s fantastic that so many of our people got involved this year.

“Kiltwalk is more than a fundraising event – it’s a movement of kindness and community spirit. Our team’s dedication to walking for causes close to their hearts underlines our commitment to having enduring impact on the communities where our people live and work.

“Now that we’ve all forgotten about our sore feet, we can’t wait for next year.”

Johnston Carmichael has been a gold sponsor of Kiltwalk for almost a decade, and this year’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.
