John Lewis & Partners Glasgow officially opens its Christmas shop

Posted: 2nd October 2019

With less than 90 days to go until the big day, the word ‘Christmas’ is already the most searched term on John Lewis & Partners’ website. To help those looking to begin their festive preparations, John Lewis & Partners, Glasgow has officially launched its Christmas shop, bursting full of gift and decoration inspiration.

In addition to John Lewis & Partners’ iconic collection of gift ideas and decorations, the Glasgow shop also has two unique pop-up experiences running throughout the festive season.

John Lewis & Partners Quality Street Tin Design for 2019

An exclusive ‘pop up’ Quality Street personalisation station launched at the weekend (28th September) offers customers in Glasgow the unique chance to create bespoke tins of the much-loved sweet.  Customers have the option to ‘pick and mix’ and fill a tin with their three favourite sweets, or fill a tin with one single flavour from the 13 varieties.[1]  A personalisation service will also mean Glasgow customers can replace the word ‘Quality’ with their name or street (eg. ‘Mary Street’ or ‘Smith Street’.)  The Glasgow shop will also offer a new, exclusive to John Lewis & Partners Quality Street sweet, named the ‘Crispy Truffle Bite’ – a smooth praline centre mixed with deliciously crispy cereal bites, covered in milk chocolate and wrapped in the John Lewis & Partners’ Christmas colours of black and gold.

John Lewis & Partners Fever Tree G&T pop up 2019

Gin and tonic fans will welcome the return of the Festive Fever Tree G&T pop up, on Monday 28th October.  Visitors to the in-shop ‘pop-up’ will be able to use a new digital pairing guide to create their own gin & tonic combination, perfectly suited to their tastes and have it made up into a cracker.   Customers will also be able to choose from a collection of hand-picked, perfectly paired G&T Fever Tree Crackers (£8.00 for one or £32 for a set of four) including Tanqueray, Hendricks and John Lewis & Partners’ new own brand, Raspberry and Hibiscus Gin.

Benjamin Johnson, Head of Branch at John Lewis & Partners Glasgow, commented: “Our buying teams have worked harder than ever to create unrivalled collections of gifts and decorations for this Christmas.  From the very latest and classic wooden toys to exclusive beauty products and fashion, alongside the most stunning, unique Christmas decorations.

“Our buying team has also seen greater customer demand for truly personal gifts so we are thrilled to have Quality Street and Fever Tree pop-ups, as well as new ‘Gifts of Experience’.”

This year, John Lewis & Partners has unveiled its most diverse collection of Christmas decorations yet, that are set to stimulate seasonal ideas and fuel Christmas creativity.  From today (1st October), the store’s Christmas shop will officially open and customers in Glasgow will be able to shop from seven collections which embrace traditional, playful and mindful Christmas themes.

Dan Cooper, Christmas Buyer at John Lewis & Partners, added: “We’ve scoured the globe for the most beautiful and unusual decorations. We know our customers are becoming bolder and more confident when it comes to decorating their homes, using lights, trees and accessories both inside and out.  That’s why this year you’ll see vegetables and cassette tapes, campfires and caravans, showgirls and sloths, dinosaurs and daffodils in our most fun and fantastical collection of baubles yet.”

As well as two pop up experiences, John Lewis & Partners Glasgow will also host a range of seasonal activities throughout November and December, including ‘Treetorials’ where customers will be given top tips on decorating their Christmas trees, as well as afternoon Tea with Santa.
