Jazz Nights at The Edinburgh Grand Extended

Posted: 25th November 2019

To get the Christmas spirit into full swing, revellers can sip a Singapore Sling in style as The Edinburgh Grand extends its Jazz at The Register Club sessions until the end of the year.

For three hours every Thursday and Friday renowned artists from Scotland’s thriving jazz scene will perform in the iconic hotel bar.

The line-up includes the internationally acclaimed Scottish vocalist and songwriter, Louise Dodds who will be performing from 6.30pm to 9.30pm this Thursday (28 November). Louise has performed at many of the UK’s top jazz festivals and venues, including a headline slot at the London Jazz Festival.

The Jessie Bates Duo will also feature during the winter season. Vocalist, Jessie Bates, and guitarist, Haftor Medbøe, will delight listeners with their musical sophistication, giving songs an original and engaging lift through arrangements delivered with humour and despair in equal measure.

Gavin MacLennan, General Manager of Lateral City, said:

“We are thrilled to have extended Jazz at The Register Club and look forward to welcoming some of Scotland’s best known jazz artists each week.

“The unique setting of The Register Club, which brings together the buzz of a cocktail bar with the stylish elegance of the hotel residence, provides the perfect backdrop to relax, meet friends, enjoy some music and grab a bite to eat especially after a busy day of Christmas shopping.”

Situated on the fourth floor of iconic The Edinburgh Grand, The Register Club will be serving its famous cocktails and new food menu throughout the evening.

Dishes on the recently launched menu include small hot and cold bites such as beetroot cured salmon, chicken satay and haggis bon bons, alongside more substantial meals including the venison burger and tarte flambé. The cocktail list has been curated by the talented bar team and includes classics like Sidecar and Fifty-Fifty along with a selection of bespoke house cocktails including The Celestial Being, Custodian’s Fizz and Luncheon Shrub.

The jazz sessions run until 30 December from 6.30pm-9.30pm. The full line-up can be found at www.lateralcity.com/blog-post/jazz-at-the-register-club. To book a table, please call 0131 230 0571 or email reservations@theregisterclub.com.
