Posted: 20th February 2019

Network enables MOD to access the latest engineering innovation and tap into the best UK expertise across a variety of industry sectors.

Independent IT adviser FarrPoint has been accepted to join the Provider Network for the Aurora Engineering Partnership, who have been appointed by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) as their Engineering Delivery Partner (EDP) for Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S).

As a member of the Aurora provider network, FarrPoint has the opportunity to provide value in working with the MOD to design and deploy next-generation IT and communication services, keeping the armed forces efficient, safe and cost-effective.

The partnership – formed by QinetiQ, Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, and BMT – will help the MOD to reduce costs of their engineering services, while ensuring the UK’s Armed Forces receive the best equipment and support.

FarrPoint is already a member of eight public sector procurement frameworks, including G-Cloud 10 and Digital Outcomes and Specialists 3.

Farrpoint co-founder Dr Andrew Muir said: “We are delighted to join the Aurora Provider Network. As independent, innovative and trusted advisers, our focus is to find the best digital solution to transform business capability anywhere in the world.   From strengthening cybersecurity to streamlining critical IT infrastructure; reducing risk and increasing flexibility, we aim to get it right first time for our clients. “
