Why Emotional Intelligence?
When it comes to work, cognitive intelligence (IQ) can only take us so far. All day, every day we experience different emotions, be it boredom, contentment, apathy, frustration, excitement or annoyance. And without tuning into, understanding and managing those emotions and subsequent behaviours, we can allow them to take over and affect our careers, our health and our relationships.
As well as limiting personal potential, poor emotional and social behaviours also impact negatively on organisational productivity and success. Without the range of skills required for effective interactions, collaboration and sustained performance in the workplace, organisational outcomes will suffer.
The taster session will help participants gain an understanding of what Emotional Intelligence is and how it can be developed for more effective self-awareness and self-management, as well as building and sustaining productive working relationships with others for individual and organisational success.
