Hutcheon Mearns plans further growth as it celebrates 10 years in business

Posted: 28th April 2025

Professional services advisory firm Hutcheon Mearns is this month celebrating a decade of transformative support for clients – and is continuing to pursue new ambitions on their behalf.

The firm was established in Aberdeen in April 2015 with a handful of staff and an initial focus on finance recruitment and consultancy services.

Today it has a total of 70 employees across four offices in Scotland after broadening its specialist offering into new – but closely integrated – specialist areas.

It now offers expert accountancy solutions across its three ‘pillars’ of Deals, People and Digital, and is evolving its service provision still further.

Hutcheon Mearns expects to grow its staff numbers by a further ten in 2025 and is also exploring opportunities to open more offices to extend its market presence. It is targeting a revenue figure of £10m this year.

Co-founder and Managing Director, Craig Hutcheon, says: “It has been a remarkable 10 years for everyone involved with the firm, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with colleagues and clients alike over the coming months.

“From the outset, we worked to create a distinctive identity in our market by looking for new ways to do things – by challenging the norm and continuously adapting our services, to the extent we now present a full-suite service offering.

“It is an approach that has proven to be highly successful – and rewarding – as we’ve helped numerous clients to build their teams, overcome complex challenges, pursue new opportunities and ultimately grow their business.

“And while this is an opportunity to reflect on that success, and to acknowledge the exceptional contributions of our teams over the past 10 years, we never sit still. We’re looking ahead and redefining our service model to ensure it’s precisely aligned with the future needs and priorities of our clients.”
