Hibs supporters will get a rare chance to meet club legend Steve Archibald at a major fan event.

Posted: 26th November 2021

Archibald is jetting back to the capital from his home in Barcelona to star in a live show at Easter Road Stadium in December.

The former-Scotland and Tottenham star was a fans’ favourite in the late 1980s, adding international quality to the Hibs frontline when he signed from FC Barcelona.

Adored by Hibees for netting a famous winner at Tynecastle that ended Hibernian’s ten-year wait for a derby victory, Archibald said: “After such a successful spell at the Camp Nou, I knew Barcelona was going to be tough club to follow, but I chose my next stop wisely; the bond I enjoyed with the fans and my teammates made my stay at Easter Road a special time.

“I really loved Edinburgh and scoring goals in front of the Hibs fans, especially that late winner in the derby. Hibbies have asked me on Twitter to come back to Leith and I’m excited that I am now able to do that and to share some stories with them on stage”.

Steve Archibald – Live in Edinburgh is on December 15th in The Edinburgh Suite at Hibernian’s Easter Road Stadium. Tickets are on sale now from

The live show is being produced by Edinburgh-based Headline Events, a spokesman said: “We’re honoured to bring a legend like Steve Archibald back to Hibernian. We’re excited to provide the Hibs supporters with an opportunity to meet one of the highest profile players to have played for the club. It will be enjoyable for the audience to hear his stories and we, like Steve, are looking forward to it immensely.”
