Gillespie Macandrew delivers eighth consecutive year of growth
Financial results for law firm Gillespie Macandrew confirm the business has achieved an eighth consecutive year of growth for the year ending 28 February 2020 with an increase in revenue to £14m. This represents an increase in turnover of 8% and follows similar growth in each of the last four years, making Gillespie Macandrew one of the fastest growing large law firms headquartered in Scotland. The firm’s year end cash position improved to £1.4m.
As a business which focuses firmly on staff development, Gillespie Macandrew’s Training Academy provides training on the transition from senior lawyer to partner. This has delivered further success in the last few years with Private Client partner and Charities expert Lianne Lodge promoted in 2019 and Private Client partner Eilidh Adams, Energy partner Simon Williams and Residential Property partner Gillian Wright in March 2020. In addition the firm welcomed Nikki Dundas to the partnership, who joined the Commercial Property team from Clyde & Co.
Chief Executive Officer Robert Graham-Campbell said:
“We have delivered another set of strong financial results while continuing to invest in the business to strengthen our offer to clients. Most significantly this included adding the Scottish Private Client team from Clyde & Co, who joined midyear. While the economic outlook has changed considerably since the year end with the advent of Covid-19, the sector focus of our business and our strong financial position at the outset of the pandemic, as evidenced by these results, gives me confidence that we can meet the challenges ahead.”
The firm advises clients in land and rural affairs, energy and private client including tax, and has a growing presence in commercial property and corporate business markets. With offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth, Gillespie Macandrew serves clients from across Scotland and the UK and combines a personal approach alongside sectoral expertise.
