GDPR Conferences with Thorntons Solicitors
Lessons learned and remaining compliant in Year 2
One of Scotland’s largest leading law firms, Thorntons, is holding half-day conferences at its Edinburgh and Dundee offices on the importance of managing data protection risk in light of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.
Liam McMonagle, commercial lawyer and Partner at Thorntons Solicitors, said: “This conference is a must for all Data Protection Officers as well as those involved in GDPR compliance. Our aim is to address the changes and uncertainties they face one year after GDPR came into effect including those presented by Brexit.”
These conferences will combine guidance and practical breakout sessions with Thorntons GDPR experts as well as, David Freeland of the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and Dave Austin, Detective Constable in the Economic Crime and Financial Investigation Unit.
The conference will feature sessions covering regulation and enforcement of GDPR, marketing, personal data breaches and crime prevention. Attendees will also have the choice between two breakout sessions available covering topics such as Data Protection and Brexit and the use of technology to minimise data protection compliance workload with guest speaker Andrew Archibald from Palea Systems.
There is a nominal charge to attend this event with a limited number of places available, please note attendance is restricted to two per organisation.
