Further update on LNER response to COVID-19 – Moving to a Special Temporary Timetable

Posted: 20th March 2020

Britain’s railway will be moving to a special, temporary timetable to ensure vital train services for key workers can keep running throughout a prolonged COVID-19 outbreak.

From next Monday 23 March 2020, LNER will temporarily reduce the services we operate. These changes are in response to lower customer demand, fewer colleagues available to work and Government advice against non-essential travel.

Our special, temporary timetable changes will see LNER continue to run services throughout the day, including at peak times, serving our core routes and key interchange stations, enabling customers to connect between intercity and local services run by other operators.

The new weekday timetable will run from Monday 23 March 2020, with weekend services confirmed in the coming days. However, due to the rapidly evolving situation, some of our trains may continue to be subject to short notice changes or cancellations.
