Forever Edinburgh celebrates Carer’s Rights Day and St Andrew’s Day with new Resident Days

Posted: 13th November 2025

Forever Edinburgh is inviting city residents to make the most of two upcoming Resident Days, celebrating both Carer’s Rights Day (Thursday, 20 November) and St Andrew’s Day (Sunday 30 November) with a range of exclusive local rewards and experiences.

Following a successful launch on World Tourism Day, Resident Days continue to give those who live in Edinburgh special access to free or discounted activities, attractions and tours across the city. These dedicated days are part of Forever Edinburgh’s Resident Rewards programme, designed to thank local people for their ongoing support of the city’s visitor economy.

The next Resident Day, held to mark Carer’s Rights Day, will focus on unpaid carers in Edinburgh, providing an opportunity to relax, recharge and enjoy well-earned time out through a series of free and discounted experiences in collaboration with Shared Care Scotland and VOCAL Carers Hub.

Later in the month, Edinburgh residents can look forward to celebrating Scotland’s national day on St Andrew’s Day, with a host of local businesses offering special rates and unique experiences for residents to enjoy as part of this citywide celebration.

Looking ahead, the final Resident Day of the season will mark Burns Night on Sunday 25 January 2026, rounding off the programme with offers inspired by Scotland’s national bard.

Resident Days are part of Forever Edinburgh’s Resident Rewards programme and have been designed to thank local people for their role in supporting the city’s visitor economy. By showcasing Edinburgh’s world-class tourism offering, the initiative also highlights the businesses that make the city a global destination.

Cllr Jane Meagher, leader of the City of Edinburgh Council, said:
“Resident Days put our residents at the heart of the city’s visitor economy. Edinburgh is known across the world for its history and culture, but it’s the people who live here who make it truly special. These rewards are a way of saying thank you and encouraging everyone to rediscover what makes our city so remarkable.”
