Fingal Hotel sails into summer with Edinburgh’s ultimate afternoon tea experience
Luxury floating hotel, Fingal, has unveiled one of Edinburgh’s ultimate afternoon tea experiences for summer 2026.
Fingal provides a classic setting to indulge in the ship’s new ‘Summer Afternoon Tea’ menu, with all the glamour and style of a superyacht, but with an air of old-world Art Deco ocean liner elegance.
Permanently berthed in Edinburgh’s historic Port of Leith, Fingal has established itself as a world-class foodie destination since being re-launched as a luxury hotel in 2019.
The former Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB) tender is owned and operated by the award-winning team at The Royal Yacht Britannia, which is located just 10 minutes away, offering the perfect day out for the whole family in the centenary year of Queen Elizabeth II.
Fingal’s Galley crew have created the new Summer Afternoon Tea menu to offer guests and non-residents one of the most decadent of British traditions. It will be available daily during the summer from 12pm to 3.30pm until the end of August in The Lighthouse Restaurant.
Highlights of Fingal’s new ‘Summer Afternoon Tea’ menu include Crispy potato basket, John Ross hot-smoked salmon & spinach, hollandaise sauce; and Tapioca and Gruyère croquette, tomato chutney and bacon jam.
Sweet treats include Valrhona chocolate and raspberry gâteau; Strawberry and white chocolate Chantilly shortbread; and Apricot frangipane tart with rosemary cream.
Open to non-residents for afternoon tea, dinner and cocktails, Fingal’s Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar has two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence and offers a choice of private dining booths for small pre-booked groups.
Fingal Hotel is located opposite the Port of Leith tram stop, which offers a direct and easy transport link between Leith, Edinburgh city centre and Edinburgh Airport.
Fingal’s Spring Afternoon Tea menu is priced from £65 per person. Advance reservation required.
