Feasibility Study: Network of Business Incubation Units
The Borders Railway opened in Autumn 2015 and provided much needed direct public transport links between Edinburgh, Midlothian and the Borders. The project involved the development of seven new rail stations connecting to Edinburgh Waverley, including four in Midlothian – Shawfair, Eskbank, Newtongrange and Gorebridge, and three in the Borders – Stow, Galashiels and Tweedbank.
The wider corridor area has now been opened up to new investment and development opportunities which are being investigated by the Borders Railway Blueprint Partnership. As part of this partnership, Edinburgh, Midlothian and Borders Council are keen to support business growth in the area, particularly in terms of encouraging innovation and increasing networking opportunities.
The provision of flexible business space is seen as an integral part of this process, and so the Councils are keen to speak to local businesses to establish how they can best support their growth ambitions.
We are exploring opportunities to develop business incubation space within close proximity to these new stations and would greatly appreciate your assistance in completing the following questionnaire which should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. The survey can be accessed by clicking on the following link:
Borders Railway Feasibility Study – Business Survey
The survey closes at 5pm on Friday 30th June.
