Face masks for community groups and charities Local charities and groups can apply to receive masks from Edinburgh Airport.

Posted: 18th November 2021

Charities and groups working in communities neighbouring Edinburgh Airport can now apply to receive face masks to help them with their work.

Groups and organisations will be able to apply for masks and the airport will look to accommodate as many requests as possible from its surplus stock. The masks come in boxes of 2,000.

It is the second time the airport has made masks available to local groups after a similar campaign last year, and this year the airport is working with Circular Edinburgh to make sure charity groups and organisations can access face masks they need.

Gordon Dewar, Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport said:

“Many local groups and charities are carrying out vital work for the people that rely on them and keeping themselves and users safe is obviously a crucial element to that help and care. That comes with an additional expense however, so we are making these masks available to help alleviate that financial burden and allow them to focus funds towards the services that vulnerable groups rely on.”

Mayan Grace, Head of Projects at Circular Edinburgh said:

“A circular economy relies on businesses working together and within their local areas as much as possible and Edinburgh Airport’s distribution of face masks to local groups, charities and our members is a prime example of it in action. Not only will it keep people safe, it also removes financial burden and ensures products are used by those who need them most. We encourage all businesses to look at how they can play their part in a circular economy.”

Background

Charities or groups looking to receive a donation should email the following address and include their charity/group name, a brief description of they work they do and how the masks will benefit them: customersupport@edinburghairport.com
