Extra seats for TRNSMT music festival

Posted: 25th June 2018

The ScotRail Alliance is adding more seats for music fans attending the TRNSMT festival.

Glasgow Green will play host to the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, and Liam Gallagher across two weekends in June and July.

ScotRail will be adding extra carriages to services to and from Glasgow where possible throughout the five-day festival.

Festival goers are advised to plan their journey in advance and to allow extra time for travel as trains to and from Glasgow will very busy.

Glasgow Green can be accessed from five stations, all within a 20-minute walk – Glasgow Central Station, Queen Street Station, High Street Station, Argyle Street Station, and Bridgeton Station.

However, Argyle Street and Bridgeton station will be closed Sunday 8 July due to improvement works. Customers are advised to use High Street Station on this date.

As with most special events, ScotRail will have extra staff at stations to assist customers.

ScotRail Alliance Head of Customer Experience Graham Heald said:

“We’re really looking forward to helping festival goers travel to TRNSMT. It’s an exciting event, and we’re pleased to be part of it.

“To help the event run smoothly, we’re providing extra seats to and from the Strathclyde area, but trains are expected to be extremely busy.

“Make sure to check your train times on our website or app, and leave plenty of time for travel. Buying tickets in advance will also help reduce your queuing time.”
