The home of Edinburgh’s best view opens its 12th Floor W Deck, and announces details of new seasonal menus and elevated evening programming to celebrate summer in the city.

W Edinburgh has officially opened its 360-degree destination rooftop bar; W Deck, complete with new menus and elevated experiences.  The five-star W Hotel boasting panoramic city views is delighted  to unveil updated spaces for alfresco drinking and dining on its expansive W Deck for the summer season.  Guests to Edinburgh and locals alike are invited to enjoy signature cocktails, chilled summer wines, fire pits and live music, paired with unprecedented 360-degree views of Scotland’s capital all summer long.

W DECK

Located on the 12th floor of W Edinburgh, W Deck is now officially open Friday to Sunday (Scottish weather permitting), and is opening seven days a week from 1st June.  New on offer is an exclusively crafted summer cocktail menu, alongside crisp fine wines and live music.  The refreshed drinks menu features signature cocktails, chilled summer wines, and refreshing non-alcoholic creations. Seasonal highlights include cocktails like the Arthur’s Seat (Bacardi, pineapple, and crème de mure) and Leith Walk (Bombay Sapphire and mint-infused nori liqueur), alongside crisp wines such as Whispering Angel Rosé from Côtes de Provence and Laurent Perrier Champagne. Fresh smoothies are also a welcome addition to the menu with refreshing options including the ‘Red One’ (beetroot, grapefruit, ginger, celery and green apple).

W Deck will also be introducing W Sunset Sessions – a chance to unwind and enjoy signature cocktails as the sun sets over the unparalleled views of the city.  W Sunset Sessions will see an impressive calendar of live music from home-grown talent (line-up, to be confirmed) every Friday night from 7pm-10pm.  Guests can enjoy such music while soaking up the sunshine and marvelling at the views of Edinburgh Castle, Arthur’s Seat, Calton Hill and the historic George Street.

PRIVATE PANORAMIC POD DINING

Throughout summer, W Deck guests can enjoy uninterrupted views and private dining from W Deck’s newly launched, incredibly chic large glass pods that offer the entire W Lounge menu whilst inside.  With festival fireworks displays over Edinburgh, guests can watch the city sparkle from their private oasis.  Whether you’re seeking a vibrant social scene or a tranquil escape, W Deck promises unrivalled vistas of the rooftop spires of Scotland’s capital.

W LOUNGE

ELEVATED SEASONAL MENU

A new menu featuring Scottish-inspired snacks, small plates, and large plates will be available for locals and visitors to the city to enjoy all day long.  This new all-day elevated dining offering has been crafted by W Edinburgh’s esteemed in-house team led by Executive Chef David Lilley.  The newly revamped W Lounge offering hosts seasonal delights including snacks of Haggis Spiced Potato Fritters, small plates like Cured Scottish Salmon (with lemon curd, compressed cucumber, sea herbs, and roe caviar) or larger options such as North Sea Spiced Cod (with samphire pakora, bombay potato, and tomato chutney).

Paired with an impressive drinks list of classics and twists such as the WIldwoods (Santa Teresa 1796, Granny smith, Allspice, Verjus and Pear Foam) and gin-infused Morrigan’s Ember (Bombay Sapphire, Cocchi Torino, bitter blend, rosemary, cacao nibs and hibiscus water), W Deck is the city’s hidden go-to spot when the sun is shining (if you know, you know).

IMMERSIVE WINE EXPERIENCES – A SOMMELIER’S SELECTION ON SHOW

Originally opened in November 2023, W Lounge now plays host to its Sommelier’s collection of over 400 fine wines and Champagne, all impressively displayed on W Lounge’s Wine Wall around a dedicated new tasting table in the heart of the space.  Guests are invited to immerse themselves in the collection, and discover new wine and cheese pairings, and Sommelier-led tasting experiences.

Now with one of the most impressive global wine selections in the city, W Edinburgh is delighted to be offering guests its signature New Horizons Wine & Cheese Flight experience, which will see guests enjoy a 45-minute Sommelier-led tasting.  On offer will be three exquisite wines expertly paired with artisanal cheeses, while guests are seamlessly guided to explore the variety of taste profiles, textures, and aromas.
