Join us in November for an exciting breakfast round table on the Wallonia region (Belgium). This event will give you the opportunity to hear from experts about the business opportunities in Belgium.

Speakers will include senior representatives from the following organisations:
  • Mr Pierre-Yves Jeholet, Vice-President of the Government of Wallonia and Minister for Economy, Industry, Research, Innovation, Digital Economy, Labour and Vocational Training
  • Mr Marc De Mil, International Tax Expert at the Finance department of the Federal Public Service of Belgium
  • Mr Frank Toussaint, Logistics and supply chain expert at Awex, the Ministry for Foreign Trade
  • Mr Alphi Cartuyvels, Head of FDI for Europe and North America.
Why Wallonia?
 
Wallonia is primarily French-speaking, accounts for 55% of the territory of Belgium and a third of its population. This region excels in creativity, with a highly skilled workforce and innovative companies.
  • There are numerous high-tech incubators.
  • Over 200 spin-offs have been created based on university research.
  • There is a strong education and research sector: 30 colleges, 9 university centres grouped into 3 regional education authorities (in Wallonia and Brussels), which attract tens of thousands of students, among whom are many foreign students and doctoral students.
  • The region heavily invest in innovation and offer a set of financial measures to support R&D and investment.
  • In 2013 Wallonia was designated “European Creative District” by the European Commission, among 44 other candidate regions.
