Kickstart is a £2billion Government programme that works with business to create hundreds of thousands of high quality, grant-funded 6-month work placements for young people aged 16-24 who receive Universal Credit and deemed at risk of becoming long term unemployed.
At this informative webinar, Jimmy O’Connell, Head of Operations, who manages the Kickstart Gateway Organisation activity for Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and Linda Gibb, Senior Employer and Partnership Manager for Edinburgh DWP, will be presenting and available to take your questions.
The UK Government has committed funding for these placements covering 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours per week. Associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions are also included in the grant funding. In addition to this, wrap-around support grant funding is provided for any training and equipment costs associated with these job placements.
Businesses of all sizes, operating in any sector can apply to Kickstart for funding to create new 6-month job placements within their business.
During this session, you will hear how you can get involved in the Kickstart Scheme to offer placements in your business. We will cover the application process, the role of Gateway Organisations as a facilitator, what “Wrap-around” support means, funding/payment schedules, evidence requirements, the audit trail and much more.
