Our Inspiring Women in Business lunches invite Scotland's leading ladies to share their story of business success.
In September we are delighted to welcome Lesley Franklin, Principal of George Heriot’s School.

At this event, guests will enjoy a welcome drink and two course lunch, as well as hearing Lesley's inspiring story, with time at the end for some Q&A.

Principal of George Heriot’s School, one of the top independent schools in Edinburgh, Lesley Franklin was appointed to the senior role in early 2018 becoming the school’s first female Principal in its 390-year history. Lesley is the first Primary Head to be appointed Principal of an all through Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference (HMC) school.
Passionate about young people and learning, Lesley has extensive experience in education. Holding an honours degree in German from the University of St Andrews, Lesley then went on to study teaching at the University of Reading. She took up a teaching post at Craigentinny Primary School before joining George Heriot’s in 1995. Lesley was then appointed as Head of the Junior School in 2013.
During her time as Principal, Lesley seeks to uphold and highlight the school’s values of kindness, hard work and personal happiness. She also aims to improve the employability skills of young people by embracing creativity and STEM subjects.
