Growing Edinburgh’s Businesses For Good

Growing Edinburgh’s Businesses For Good

@ Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Delivered Online Midlothian

14th December, 2021 09:30-10:30 Event
The COP26 conference held in Glasgow in November has brought sharply into focus the need for us all to play our part in addressing the many challenges our planet, and our city, are facing.  The way we live, work and do business will need to change if we are to address climate change, whilst we’re also facing increasing demand from our clients, customers and potential employees to do business with purpose, and to behave more ethically and sustainably in all of our activities.

In Edinburgh, we’ve long been aware of the need to build more purpose into the economic life of the city, in order to address some of the key issues, challenges and opportunities we face. The commercial imperatives for doing so are also becoming ever more apparent – if we want to be able to effectively compete, attract the best talent, be part of supply chains in both the private and public sector, and appeal to an ever more discerning customer base, this is a change we now have to make.

But we understand that this change is not easy, and that many individuals and organisations want to make these changes but don’t know how, or where to even start to make a difference against issues which seem so overwhelming. To that end, a group of individuals and representatives from a range of organisations of all sizes and sectors, including Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, Edinburgh Napier University and many others, have been working to create a programme designed to support, inspire and encourage organisations on this journey to build more purpose and become businesses for good.

Please join us virtually on Tuesday 14th December from 9.30am – 10.30am to learn more about our group, our work on Business for Good, how it can help and support you on this journey, and have your say in how the programme we are creating is being developed.
