Join us in May for a Business Update from Kieran Harte, Cities General Manager for Uber UK

At this event Kieran will provide a brief overview of Uber UK's journey so far and their plans for the future. "Uber’s primary mission is to reduce private car ownership and use by providing a reliable way to get from A to B - a goal we share with cities around the world. Today there are too few trips shared and too much time wasted in too many cars resulting in serious issues with congestion, air quality and the liveability of our cities and regions.

Uber are working with cities to help eliminate these problems with old mobility and make places better to live in and travel around and is excited to be playing its part in making the Norther Powerhouse a success.

Firstly, they are helping users make the modal shift from cars to active transportation by deploying innovate technologies such as JUMP eBikes.

Secondly, working with transport providers to deliver multi-modal transportation in the Uber App, complementing existing mass transport systems and enabling their reach to be extended at no additional cost to the taxpayer.

Thirdly, Uber are committed to a zero emissions future in which all rides are made in an electric vehicle and recently launched our clean air plan to reduce the barriers for drivers that want to transition to an EV.

And finally, giving riders to ability to share vehicles with other riders, increasing vehicle occupancy and paving the way for new vehicle ownership models. The idea being that a shared trip is good for passengers because a shared ride is a cheaper ride; good for drivers because they would have more time with paying passengers in the back of the car; and good for cities because we’d be getting more people in fewer cars."
