Join us in April for a Business Update with Andrew Jarvis, Managing Director for Scotland at First Bus.

At this event Andrew will provide a brief overview of First Bus in terms of their journey so far and the businesses ambitions for the future. Covering topics including fleet investment, the environment and their commitment to greener journeys, the forthcoming Edinburgh Low Emission Zone, and the challenges that the bus industry faces.

First Bus provide solutions for an increasingly congested world, keeping people moving and communities prospering.  First Bus is one of Britain’s largest bus operators, operating around a fifth of all local bus services outside London. A fleet of some 5,800 buses carry approximately 1.6 million passengers every day across a huge number of communities. From as far North as Aberdeen to as far South as Cornwall, First’s buses help our customer’s access employment, education, retail and leisure. Connecting communities and help to create vibrant local economies.


Andrew holds a BSc in Transport & Distribution Management and has been employed in the bus and coach industry for 28 years. From cleaner and driving positions prior and during university via a Senior Graduate Training position with Go-Ahead Group plc to roles in junior and then senior management levels. Andrew has led multi-site operations for the last 19 years and has been a Director for 12 years, initially with Stagecoach plc and latterly with First Group plc. Andrew has been a Managing Director of bus and coach business’ for over 8 years and is currently Managing Director, Scotland for First leading a team of around 3500 people using over 1200 vehicles.
